Trial begins for korean air heiress over nut rage incident

A group of women who allege that former A-Team member Kim So Min assaulted them after being intoxicated in a Los Angeles hotel have filed a lawsuit against the actor.


The woman - a former A-Team member of Seo Kyung-hoon - claims he punched her in the stomach, knocked her down, and then went behind her into her room. After grabbing her, she alleged he then pulled her down onto a bed and tried to pull out her genitals, the Korean Times reported.


"He was like 'I can't do that and I'll be fired,' and 'You'll never work again,' and 'You're not worth it,' and 'I don't need a woman anymore and you can't come back with me.' I was shocked." said the woman, who is also a nurse.


After the incident, she said the actor made her believe that she was at risk for HIV.


After the incident, the women filed a $2 million lawsuit on July 31 against Kim So Min for assault and battery, assault of a medical professional, and aggravated assault.


An attorney for Kim denied those allegations.


"I was shocked at first, because Kim did nothing wrong," said Kim. "He did not assault me. He was standing on the edge of my bed watching TV while I was sleeping, but I don't recall him hitting me."


In 2013, the actress, who won two awards, was also reportedly accused of groping and kissing other Korean actresses. The lawsuit claims that this behavior has continued even today. The woman, identified as Song Ja Hyung in the lawsuit, claimed that she then asked Kim So Min if she was sure the incident was not a misunderstanding, and to explain.


"[Kim] took me on a tour of his studio, saying that [I was] beautiful and didn't remember anything, and asked me many times, 'Did you forget about that?'" said Song, who went on to receive the award for Lifetime Achievement from American Family Association in 2014.


When asked if she had told Kim he was beautiful during the tour, Song says that her response wasn't sexual, but that it was in reference to the way she looks in photos.


The lawsuit claims that Kim So Min made her take off her clothes and go onto his private penthouse apartment for "bondage" while he gave her a massage.


He also reportedly locked her in a hotel room and forced her to masturbate while he filmed her. She also claimed Kim told her that he could make her cum if she did not do it herself.


The actor did not respond to an inquiry from the Hollywood Reporter about the allegations.

Nsw energy minister defends solar bonus cuts 1:25

The federal government will soon be cutting 1.2-million customers from the rooftop energy generation mix in northern Manitoba.

The province has been asking consumers to reduce their generation rates on the rooftop, including solar and wind. The federal government is expected to start capping what it calls a "bundle" of energy policies, including a rebate, on November 1.

"We know that people are very concerned about the lack of options in northern Manitoba and they're wanting to choose a particular package for their situation," said Scott Fielder, spokesman for the Manitoba Utilities Board.

While those customers can save a small amount per month, Fielder said people have the option of paying up if they want to buy solar.

"What that means is what they're going to be able to do is use their $40, $60, $70 that they're paying to pay for their energy for the next 30 months as well as some $30 to $40 per day to use other products or some other combination," he said.

Policies approved

For those who aren't using solar, Fielder said they will get a rebate from the province for the first month.

"This provides them with an advantage in terms of buying into the solar industry," he said.

Fielder says Manitoba customers will be able to select from the following options when the government decides to cap their solar bonus:

Solar-only: A rate reduction of about $0.10 per kilowatt hour of solar power at an average $20 rate, down to just $15 from January 1, 2018. This is good news for consumers with modest home installations.

Wind energy: A rate reduction of about $0.15 per kilowatt hour of wind power at an average $20 rate, down to just $20 from January 1, 2018. This is good news for low-end residential customers, who currently get much less in that market than more powerful hydro and nuclear customers.

Hydroelectricity: A rate reduction of about $0.30 per kilowatt hour of hydroelectricity at an average $30 rate, down to just $25 from January 1, 2018. This is good news for people using gas-fired power plants or solar-only generation systems.

Pipelines: A rate reduction of about $1.50 per kilowatt hour of pipeline capacity, down to just $40 from January 1, 2018,
